Athletic Parent Information

    • 4th Grade: Cross Country, Wrestling, Track
    • 5th & 6th Grade: Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Softball
    • Grade Point Average: Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
    • No "F" Grades: A single failing grade will result in immediate ineligibility.
    • Grade Checks: Evaluation occurs every two weeks.
    • Staff Collaboration: Varsity, B, and C rosters are created by the coaching staff as a whole.
    • Criteria: Selection is based entirely on tryout performance and player safety.
    • Finality: All coaching decisions regarding placements are final.

    Varsity Level

    • Focus: Highly competitive play targeting a quality win.
    • Playing Time: No guaranteed playing time. Athletes must play/enter in at least ½ of the games.
    • Post-Season: Includes one post-season game.

    B & C Levels

    • Focus: Skill development and equal participation.
    • Playing Time: Required equal playing time in every game.
    • Team Splits: Over-sized teams will be split into Blue, Gold, or White squads.
    • Attendance: Unexcused absences result in loss of playing time. Communicate with coaches in advance.
    • Game Minimum: Athletes must attend at least ½ of all practices to participate in a game.
    • Gear: Athletes must be prepared and properly equipped to practice.
    • P.E. Excuses: If a student is excused from P.E., they cannot participate in athletics that day.
    • Medical Releases: A doctor's note sidelining an athlete requires a follow-up doctor's note to clear them for return.
    • School-Day Away Games: All athletes must ride the district-provided bus to the event.
    • Return Bus: A bus always returns to Dry Creek. Arrival time is between 4:15 PM – 4:30 PM.
    • After-School/Weekends: Parents must provide transportation to and from these events.
    • Sign-Out Policy: Parents can sign out their athlete directly after an away game.
    • Alternate Pick-Up: Only adults listed on the pre-season release paperwork may pick up your child.
    • Area Champions: Team plaque and photo posted in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR).
    • Individual/Team Champions: Custom Black Shirts and recognition posted in the MPR.
    • Team Awards: Exactly three individual awards will be presented per team.
    • Respect: Show respect to all officials, coaches, and players at all times.
    • No Sideline Coaching: Please support your child, but let the coaches instruct during games and practices.
    1. The 24-Hour Rule: Wait 24 hours after an incident before contacting staff (except for immediate safety concerns).
    2. Contact Coach: Message the head coach directly to schedule a discussion.
    3. Athletic Director: Include the Athletic Director (Chester Stoeckle) as the next step if unresolved.
