Principal's Message
Welcome to Dry Creek Elementary---Home of the Panthers!
We’re so glad you’re here! At Dry Creek, we believe school should be more than just a place to learn—it should be a place where every child feels seen, every family feels welcomed, and every staff member feels valued. This year, our theme is “Grow Your Greatness,” and it reflects everything we hope to cultivate together: curiosity, compassion, confidence, and connection.
Three words guide the vision I hold for our school: Love, Learning, and Belonging. I want every child to know they matter. I want our students to not only grow academically, but also to grow into kind, courageous, and thoughtful humans—ones who leave our school just a little better than they found it, and who carry a love for learning with them through middle school, high school, and beyond.
Our school has a rich history of excellence dating back to 1866, with recent recognitions as a California Distinguished School (2023 & 2014) and a California Gold Ribbon School (2016). These honors reflect the hard work and heart of our entire community—students, staff, and families—working together in service of our kids. We are especially grateful to our Parent Teacher Club (PTC) for their continued support, generosity, and partnership—they play a vital role in making our school community stronger every year.
With 25 years of experience in education—as a teacher, counselor, and administrator—I am deeply honored to lead this incredible school. I strive to be a principal who truly sees people, who listens, encourages, and uplifts. I want our students to know that Mrs. Gill believes in them—even on their hardest days. I want our staff to know I trust and support them fully. And I want our families to know that I am committed to being a true partner in your child’s journey, walking beside you every step of the way.
Thank you for visiting our website. We can’t wait to grow, learn, and thrive with you this year!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Simi Gill
